The next time you want something to sweetened your tea, don’t reach for sugar, go for honey instead. But not just regular honey, go for raw organic honey. Did you know that when you consume raw organic honey, your body doesn’t digest it like sugar. You don’t gain weight from it even if you splurge and have a lot of it! Raw organic honey is the wholesome way to cheat having something sweet! I love it in Iced Tea or Lemonade. Raw organic honey helps your bodies system to be alkaline as well as promote the growth of good bacteria in your intestines. When you consume honey that isn’t organic, acid is actually used in the process to draw the honey out of the honeycomb thus killing off any of the wholesome goodness and benefits. If you are going to use the yellow stuff that comes in plastic teddy bear containers, you might as well just use white sugar. And don’t even get me started on the farce that is agave! (Google agave is bad and get ready for a shocker). My favorite way to use raw organic honey is this:
PsychicGirl Vodka Iced Tea Cocktail
Brew some Black Tea and let it cool. Then fill a blender with ice, tea, vodka and some raw organic honey to sweeten to your liking. Blend and then pour in your favorite glass and garnish with a sprig of mint. Serve with a straw. This drink is also yummy served hot without ice on a chilly night. And that is what I call Cocktails & Healing!
